Senior Mechanical Engineer

Responsible for engineering investigations of facilities, equipment and operational issues; designing, planning and executing small and medium size engineering projects. Conducting facility assessments, code compliance and construction review. Experience in supervising project design, specification preparation and review, project scheduling, and project cost estimating. Position responsible for quality control of design deliverables. Knowledge of the development, implementation, and supervision of preventive maintenance and work control systems. Must be highly knowledgeable in all building systems including HVAC, boilers, chillers, DDC controls, plumbing and electrical systems, energy conservation and fire protection. Candidate will be responsible for facility-level electrical design; including utility service, emergency generation, UPS systems, power distribution, lighting systems, fire alarm systems, paging systems, telecommunication systems and building/motor controls. Ability to conduct related electrical system calculations including load analysis, short circuit calculations, protective device coordination studies and arc flash studies using computer based programs. Must coordinate electrical design with in- house HVAC engineers, plumbing engineers, process engineers, and external structural engineers and architects. Plumbing / Fire Protection Engineer

Prepare project deliverables and contract documents including calculations, drawings, and specifications. Complete knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards for plumbing and fire protection. Survey existing plumbing and fire protection systems and examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects. Validation Engineer

Candidate will be responsible for validation and verification studies (FAT, SAT, IOQ, PQ) for cleaning, shipping, equipment, systems, utilities, and processes and ensure compliance with the relevant regulatory (local, state and federal) agencies. Writes, approves and executes protocols, resolves deviations/discrepancies, reviews and analyzes study data, writes and approves summary reports. Writes, reviews and revises a variety of installation, operation and performance qualification/verification related documents, including the following: SOPs, validation/verification master plans, guidelines and execution plans, automation, engineering design, commissioning, qualification or other technical documents, user requirement specifications (URS), basis of design documents (BOD), functional requirement specifications (FRS), detailed design specifications (DDS), factory acceptance test documents (FAT), verification protocols, and/or commissioning test procedures (CTP). ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years experience in validation/verification services, in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in QA within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device industries.
  • Two or more years of direct equipment, systems or utilities validation/verification experience
  • Ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) and electrical diagrams
